Safari Camp is a great option for campers who love the outdoors, thrive in a small group setting, and are looking for extra adventure. Safari campers stay a 10 minute hike away from base camp at the Safari Outpost. As a primitive camp, there is no running water or electricity at Safari Camp, instead campers will stay in elevated huts, spend late nights around the campfire, and even prepare some of their own meals. Safari campers will have the opportunity to do our challenge course activities (zipline, giant swing, climbing tower, etc.) and swim like all other campers who stay on BSCC property. All week long Safari campers will also get to go canoeing/ rafting on the Little Miami River (weather permitting) and possibly go on other off-campus day trips.
Camp Specific Info: Theme: Breaking Free
Key Verses: Romans 8:2 and 2 Corinthians 3:17
Through this week of safari camp, we hope that campers will build a lasting relationship with God as they learn what it means to break free from sins and follow God with all their heart. Campers will get the opportunity to hike, explore, zipline, go rafting, and build deep relationships with new friends. We hope that students not only walk away from this week with incredible memories but also with a desire to seek God and get to know him more. Make sure to pack a flashlight, and shoes & clothes can get dirty!
Austin is excited to come back to Butler Springs and dean this week of safari camp. Austin was a previous employee of Butler Springs, and is grateful to serve camp in a different way this summer. He grew up attending safari camp and he can't wait to create a fun experience for safari campers.
